I heard a story today:
A pastor who was on a family trip to a lake saw this - a mother swallow pushing her three little swallows down the edge of a thin branch by the deep blue lake. She went on sideways, using her plump body to squeeze the little ones closer and closer to the edge.
Suddenly the 1st one loses balance and falls off. The little fluff of feather flutters and flutters in the air until right before it hits the water it extends its wings and flies away. Six feet up in the air the second little swallow also got pushed down, flutters in the air, and flies away along with the first one.
Then, the mother slowly approach the last little one bumping it lightly in hopes that it will follow the others. But it stubbornly gripped onto the branch, so hard that with the mother's push it ended up hanging upside down - stubborn still, frightened and unwilling to let go. The mother, stubborn as the child, pecks on the little one's feet urging it to fly. With a few painful pecks, the little one finally lets go, flutters in the air, struggling like it's other brothers, and flies up into the open sky.
What do i grip so hard onto? I know it's bitterness. And I hope I can take this step of letting it go before it gouges me empty from the inside x]
PS: I saw this weird plant on my way walking back from the chinese church i attended this morning. Note that it's FUZZY, but it has a row of dorsal spines and a row of alternating ventral spines on the bottom. Quite interesting huh XD hahah
oh and please pray for the socal fires... that they'd stop spreading over to the residence area x/
