Hello again, World!

Corcovado National Park, Panama :). Why yes, I'm also known as the Chinese Lara Croft.
Hi all! I am still on the net.
Somewhat :)

A quick update on the "career" that I mentioned before I left this blog unattended for 2 years, 7 months and 27 days. It was very hard to pick only one picture that should capture everything... EVERYTHING!! The pic is from my summer travel to Central America where I learned all about tropical biology. It was some dirty fun, full of large insects, furry monkeys, musty tree tops and white sand!

Right now, I'm a second year graduate student at my very dear alma mater UC Berkeley. While studying biomechanics of flight in insects, I've had amazing labmates, and mentors at every stage of academia that enabled my global travels that ranged from South East Asia to all over the America that is not the USA territories. It's been a journey full of emotional wear and ecstatic surprises. Currently, I'm preparing for the most important oral examination of my career, in which four professors will grill my knowledge for three hours to determine my aptitude in taking on research. I can't say it's the happiest period of my studies (ugh, when can I start on those fun science experiments??). But I am gleefully content and humbled by seeing the determination, persistence, and quirky personalities that my professional career has brought me so far.

In any case, after I pass my exam on December 5th, I should embark on some other journey across the globe. Thanks for visiting, wish me luck, and expect good news in the next post :)
