Day 234 - through grand door

I'm sure many of you heard the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector. Ok, maybe i shouldn't make that assumption... hahah

So the story goes that his hated-tax collector called Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus who was passing by the city he lived. He was short, and despised by many many many, so he couldn't get through the crowd and see Jesus. As such, this super rich short man decided that it was a good idea to climb a fig tree to check out Jesus. Tho surprisingly, when Jesus stopped right below the tree, he looked up, and told Zacchaeus that he wants to spend the night at his place. Zacchaeus was rly glad and decided to "give half of his possessions to the poor, and [...] pay back four times the amount to pple he cheated before". And Jesus pronounced "Today salvation has come to this house..."
----------------------------------
Well there's more to the story. But today while discussing, there was a point that surprised me. And here i want to record that point, a focus that i have never seen before. The leader of my discussion group mentioned "see, there was no bible back then. communication wasn't even that great, so Zacchaeus probably just heard about Jesus, the healer of the blind (that occurred in the previous chapter; right outside of the city of Jericho Jesus healed a blind man). But Jesus said salvation has come to this house. It isn't about knowing the bible front and back nor having no doubts. It's about having being sincere before Jesus, and fixing the actions that have hurt others."

I was rly surprised bc i expected the speaker to say the usual - that Jesus is there to find the lost, (Jesus' whole sentence was "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19) Usually the emphasis is on the last sentence, but today's emphasis really surprised me x]

Btw, pic = Haas quite a pretty place huh :]
